The heart line: how a person loves

The heart line crosses the palm just beneath the fingers. Cheiro, the most famous palmist of the early twentieth century, saw it as the line of feeling, not of the physical heart.

For him a deep, clear line meant steady and dependable affection. A thin, pale one meant feelings that are weaker and more changeable.

Where it begins

Beneath the index finger, the person loves wholeheartedly and tends to idealise their partner. When the line starts at the very edge of the palm, the feeling can grow too strong and become a source of suffering.

Beneath the middle finger, the person is reserved and shows little tenderness, yet pursues the one they have chosen with real persistence.

Between these two fingers lies the middle ground, and most hands look like this.

It differs between the hands

Often the heart line is curved and lively on one palm and straight and calm on the other. That is the difference between who someone is by nature and who they have become, and a single hand cannot show it.
