The head line: how a person thinks
The head line crosses the middle of the palm. It says nothing about intelligence. It shows how a person thinks: whether they lean on facts or on imagination, whether they decide quickly or weigh things for a long time.
Cheiro looked at two things: where the line begins and where it ends.

The beginning
When the head line is joined to the life line at its start, the person is cautious and sensitive and dislikes deciding in the heat of the moment.
When there is a gap between the two, the person is more independent and decisive. Cheiro took a very wide gap as a sign of rashness.
The end
A straight line across the whole palm marks a practical mind. A line that slopes gently down towards the Mount of the Moon, on the outer edge of the palm, marks a rich imagination. If it drops steeply, the person is ruled by moods and works in bursts.
A forked ending, in Cheiro's reading, means a practical streak and a vivid imagination side by side. He advised such people to trust their first decision rather than weigh everything endlessly.
