Not everyone has a fate line
The fate line runs upwards towards the middle finger. Many people have none, or only a faint trace of one. That does not mean they lack purpose or a calling.
Cheiro read in it the course of a person's life and work. A clear, straight line belongs to someone who follows one path for a long time. A broken line means the path has changed more than once.

Where it begins
Rising from the life line, it shows a person who achieves everything through their own effort. In youth, family or circumstances may hold them back, but later they find their own road.
Rising from the wrist, in the centre of the palm, it shows someone who knows early on what they want. Cheiro promised great fortune only if the line of the Sun, which runs towards the ring finger, is clearly marked as well.
Rising from the outer edge of the palm below the little finger, it shows a full and eventful life, though much of it depends on other people.
Where it ends
If the fate line stops at the head line and goes no further, Cheiro saw the person's own mistake in it, not chance.
The fate line is easily confused with the inner curve beside the life line. The difference is that the fate line climbs towards the middle finger, while the curve stays by the thumb. On a cropped photo they are often mixed up.
